Location
Szombathely is situated in Western-Hungary, at the foot of the Alps, so it can be approached from Budapest with a 2,5-hour journey by car. The former commercial town was founded by Emperor Claudius, nowadays the town awaits visitos with sights which date back to the Roman period and characterized by rapidly developing tourism, a number of festivals and international fairs. Park Hotel Pelikan **** is located in the heart of the town of rich historical and cultural traditions, near the center and the historical sights.
Hotel
The hotel building dates back to the beginning of the 1900's, it has been functioning as a hotel since 2002. This year was the year of the total renovation. The 3-storey hotel is at guests' disposal all year round with a 24-hour reception and elevator. Free parking is available in the closed, monitored parking lot. The elegant Villa Pelikan Restaurant & Bar offers a comfortable place for various events (for maximum 160 persons) and specialities of the international, Hungarian, vegetarian and dietetic cuisine. We offer the Winter Garden for weddings, concerts, meetings, small balls and events, it has glass walls and a nice view. Maximum 100 persons can be seated in the conference room, it can be sectioned into 3 parts and has basic equipment (screen, projector, overhead projector, adjustable sound volume, flipchart). Wireless internet access in public areas free of charge. Other services: fax, photocopy, laundry, dry cleaning, program organising. Baby-Sitting service upon request. Pets welcome (upon charge).
Rooms
The airconditioned, medium-sized standard rooms have spacious bathroom (with shower), television (satellite channels in Hungarian, English and German languages), minibar, radio, telephone, safe, hairdryer, high-speed internet access (LAN, free of charge), bathrobes, carpet covers the floor. The bigger superior rooms have standard equipment, but there is a bathtub or shower in the bathroom moreover a DVD player in the rooms. On the first and second floor of the main building guests can choose between bright, high-ceiling rooms with superb view of the Pelikan Park and cosy spacious mansard rooms. At the Villa Magnolia building (next to the main building) bigger groups can be accommodated. Nonsmoking, disabled and conjoining rooms are available, some rooms may have extra beds. Room service is between 7:00 am and 22:00 pm.
